Writer. Dog Lover. Armchair Philosopher.

Imbued with the wild magic of New Mexico, Before Now Was Now is an exhilarating romp across the decades, a moving exploration of the struggle for belonging and identity, the often painful bonds of family, and the consequences of choices that trickle across generations.

“A sublime SF tale equally invested in character development and checking the genre’s boxes.”

— Kirkus Reviews

“I don’t think I’ve encountered anything else like it, in literature or in other media.”

— Reedsy Discovery

Angela was raised in beautiful Taos, New Mexico, and spent her childhood reading, daydreaming, and listening to new wave music. Writing has always been central to her life, but it wasn’t until Angela took her inner work seriously that she could devote herself to her creative and intellectual journey.

Upon realizing that perpetually postponing her personal aspirations had long since become a way of life, Angela returned to UNM after a nearly thirty-year break to complete her BA in English & Philosophy. She now joyfully juggles graduate work at UNM with writing, managing a restaurant, and spending time with her family and three dogs. Her first novel, Before Now Was Now, was published in April, proving, in the words of George Eliot, that it is truly never too late to be what you might have been.

Angela’s writing is inspired by her fascination with human behavior, her love of philosophy, and her lifelong interest in time travel. She lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with her three wonderful canine besties, and wakes up every morning truly grateful for another day of life.
